We'd love for you to meet our precious July APE Achiever, and our newest Baby House resident… Little Jane. 🦧 🫶
Jane is approximately 18 months old. She was found alone and crying in a villager's garden in East Borneo. No mother. No forest. Just the overwhelming fear of being lost and alone.
But because you care, Jane was given a second chance. Because of your kindness, Jane was rescued and brought to safety at our BORA rescue centre.

The heartbreaking moments of Jane’s rescue, which was only possible thanks to you.
When Jane arrived at the rescue centre, she was given full medical checks by the vet team. They found a small abnormality on the index finger of her right hand, with x-rays showing a joint deformity. Thankfully, she still has movement in the finger. And beyond that, Jane is perfectly healthy, and she's already beginning to heal.
Jane is bright, active, and endlessly curious. She's still a little cautious with her carers, moving carefully around them, but always curious to interact.
And she has quite the appetite, especially for bananas. She loves food so much, she's already started stealing Charlie's snacks! Right now, she has five milk bottles a day, every three hours, from 6am to 6pm.

Jane in her happy place – with food!
It's wonderful to see her settling in and starting to nest. In time, we hope to see Jane thriving in Jungle School, learning the skills she needs to find her way back to the wild.
Stories like Jane's are always hard to share. A young, helpless orangutan losing everything she knows. Her mother, her forest, her home.
But they're heartwarming too. Because they remind us that people like you exist. Your kindness is the reason orangutans like Jane get a second chance at life. Every gift you give is the reason vulnerable infants like Jane are rescued, brought to safety, and given the love, care and support they need to find their way back to the wild.

One day, thanks to amazing people like you, Jane will call the rainforest home again. Thank you for giving her the second chance she deserves.
Jane has an extra special orangutan thank you just for you, for being the reason she’s now safe. Make sure you watch until the end so you don’t miss the cutest of all kisses! ✨
Jane was rescued, brought to safety, and given a second chance because you care. If you’d like to support Jane through Jungle School, and give her everything she needs to feel loved, safe and cared for, you might consider giving a small gift in her name. ♥️
