Late last year, you did something truly extraordinary. You helped bring the Wildlife Ambulance to life. A vital lifeline for orangutans fighting for survival, all thanks to you!
Your kindness also helped stock it with lifesaving medical supplies and equipment, turning it into a real rescue vehicle, ready to respond and give the very best care to every orangutan in need.
And you did it just in time.
Once it was fitted out and ready to go, the Wildlife Ambulance travelled all the way from the island of Java, to our team in Borneo. Almost as soon as it arrived, it was deployed on a series of urgent rescue missions.
In November, our team rushed to coal mining sites in East Kalimantan, to rescue and relocate orangutans caught in the middle of destruction. Their forest homes had been destroyed. They were left without shelter, food, or safety. Some were fighting for their lives.
But because of you, they had hope, and a second chance.
With the Wildlife Ambulance, we were able to respond faster, and provide immediate medical care where it mattered most. The ambulance strengthened every rescue effort, and ensured each orangutan was transported safely to protected forest.
