Warning: extremely cute orangutan baby news!

Would you like to enjoy some good news today? The kind of news that makes you smile. That makes you feel both hopeful and proud, and also reminds you that good things are happening in the world?

Well, what better news is there, than the birth of baby orangutans!

Late last year, two baby orangutans were born in the protected forests of Camp Rasak in Borneo. And you helped make that possible!

Born to experienced mums Acuy and Amina, these two precious little girls are already stealing hearts. Acuy welcomed her fourth baby, and Amina her second. And thanks to the safe forest that you help protect, both mums were able to give birth and raise their babies naturally, in the wild.

Please meet Annisa, Acuy’s baby, and Asma, Amina’s baby.

Baby Asma with her mum Amina.

Both mums and babies are doing beautifully. They’re healthy, strong, and growing well. Our team regularly spots both duos moving confidently through the forest, and popping by the feeding site for a little extra fruit to supplement their foraging.

Camp Rasak is a special orangutan release site in the Lamandau Reserve. Here, orangutans live freely in their natural rainforest home, while our friends at the Orangutan Foundation keep a gentle, watchful eye to make sure they are safe and thriving.

These births are more than just adorable moments. They are real signs of hope.

Each baby born in the wild means a stronger future for orangutans. Each new life is a step away from Extinction, and toward survival. A step made possible because of your kindness and support.

I hope you feel proud knowing that you are part of this story. Every orangutan baby born, every patch of forest protected, and every life given a second chance, is because you care.

Thank you for standing with orangutans when they need it most.
