We have wonderful news to share with you about Bagus’ journey!
Thanks to your kind support, eight-year-old Bagus has grown from a vulnerable orphan into a strong and confident young orangutan. And now, she has taken her next big step toward forest freedom…
Bagus has been moved to a pre-release island, the final stage before life in the wild!
This is a huge milestone. And it happened thanks to you!

Bagus in her new forest home: the pre-release island.
Over her years of rehabilitation at our BORA Rescue Centre in East Borneo, you helped Bagus learn how to be an orangutan again. You helped provide her food, medical care, and daily enrichment. You supported her through Jungle School, where she built the skills she needs to survive.
Now, on the pre-release island, you’re supporting Bagus to build even more strength and confidence. She’s learning to climb higher, explore further, and forage for her own food. She is also practicing one of the most important wild skills - building a safe nest high in the trees each night.
And here’s the best part: Bagus is settling in beautifully. She’s adapting well to her new home, and showing all the positive signs of her ability to survive in the wild. Her next stop? Life in the wild!

Your kindness made this incredible milestone possible. Because you care, Bagus now has a real chance at a wild and free life. This is the power of your love and commitment!
Thank you for giving Bagus the care, safety, and second chance she deserves. Please know that you helped Bagus every step of the way. And your continued support will help her find true forest freedom. In the wild, where she belongs.
Thank you!
