Siti

Siti continues to thrive in Jungle School, growing more confident and capable with each passing day.

Siti high in the forest canopy

Alongside her best friend Sudin, she spends much of her time exploring the forest, foraging, and practising the essential skills she will need in the wild.

Feeding now makes up a large part of Siti’s daily routine, and she has developed an impressive natural diet - sampling at least 40 different forest food species. Wild fruits remain a favourite, especially liana and kuduk biawak, and she shows great enthusiasm when searching for food high in the trees. Her strong foraging instincts are an encouraging sign of her growing independence.

Siti moves confidently through the forest canopy, often travelling at heights of 10–20 metres. She is agile, energetic, and clearly at home in the trees, frequently leading the way with Sudin close behind. Whether they are chasing each other through the branches, feeding side by side, or resting together, their close bond continues to support their progress in the forest.

One of the most exciting signs of Siti’s progress is her nest-building. She is now consistently constructing strong, well-formed nests and carefully selecting safe places to sleep before sunset. During overnight stays in the forest, she appears calm and well adapted, showing increasing independence from human support.

Siti also enjoys the company of other orangutans, including Inox, Shielda, and Sule. Through play, shared feeding, and resting together, she is developing the important social skills she will carry with her into the wild.

With her confidence, curiosity, and strong natural instincts, Siti is making wonderful progress on her journey toward independence.

Thank you for supporting Siti and helping her take each step closer to a life back in the forest.
